The mission of Saint Thomas More Evangelization and Discipleship is to hand on the truths of the Catholic faith so as to make joyful disciples for Christ.

"The Ordinary Acts we practice every day at home are of more importance to the Soul than their simplicity might suggest."

What is Family Discipleship?
  • Youth meet at home with their families for simple family prayer activities.
  • Focus is growing in personal & family prayer, and reading Sunday Gospel together.
  • Families can choose a day/time that works best in your schedule.
  • Families receive excellent & easy-to-use materials to practice the Catholic faith at home.
  • Unified formation materials for all grades.
  • It's NOT virtual learning, but hands on & face to face relationship with God & one another!
  • MS & HS Discipleship groups can continue to meet, if they choose
  • Español:  Todo material para grados de pre-escolar hasta el grado 8 están disponibles en bilingüe, inglés y español.

So, no "RE class" at the church?  Why the change?
  • We want to empower families to grow in prayer and relationship with Jesus.
  • Covid-19 has allowed us space to do something we’ve wanted to do for a long time: support parents in mentoring their own children in the faith.
  • We want to help families deepen their roots in Christ, to have strength to weather difficult times.
  • Family Discipleship is uniting the WHOLE parish in formation together, not just “Religious Education families.”

What about Sacramental Preparation?
First Reconciliation & First Communion:
  • Usually in the 2nd grade year
  • This sacrament preparation has always been primarily at home with families, so there will be not much change for this year with Family Discipleship.
  •  Kids complete a scrapbook/ coloring book with their parents at home, participate in an afternoon retreat at church and have a family meeting with Fr. Terry.
  • First Reconciliation Parent meeting is Sunday, September 20th at 1:00 pm

Confirmation:
  • Confirmation preparation begins typically in the Spring of the Sophomore year, for those kids who are ready.
  • Kids complete 4-5 classes in the spring semester.
  • Kids get Confirmed in the Fall of their Junior year, typically in October.

#BeADisciple
Discipleship is central to the Christian life. We not only have to come to know Jesus, but we must learn to imitate Him and to follow Him — we must be His disciples. But what does that really mean? Find out in this 30 day video series sent directly to your inbox! Both adult and youth tracks. Created as an outreach of Franciscan University of Steubenville.

Divine Mercy Daily
"The Savior said to me, ‘Behold the treasures of grace that flow down upon souls, but not all souls know how to take advantage of my generosity.’”  - The Diary of St. Faustina
In the early 1900s, Jesus began appearing to a Polish Nun named Sr. Maria Faustina Kowalska. Through these visions, He gave her a message that was for the whole world - the message of His great love and mercy for sinners.   Hear the words that Jesus spoke to St. Faustina every day!
